I BELONG TO YOU ‘
by Momo Smiley
My Godsong, I BELONG TO YOU is a song I wrote back in July 2017 ~ about 7 months after my Daddy went to be with Jesus.
The lyrics were born while outside spending heart to heart time with Jesus on my deck. I came inside and sat down to play the melody/sing the lyrics together at my piano. They just flowed together while worshiping and singing!
Two weeks before my stroke in March 2015, I suffered a really bad leg injury with a very, very deep wound to my right leg from the gas powered hedge trimmers which butchered my leg leaving a very big scar. This visible scar today is an entry point to being able to share my testimony about how God saved my life in March 2015! That was over a decade + ago!
I was thinking about Jesus letting HIS SCARS remain to visibly prove His love prevailed! We preciously BELONG to him!
Thank you, Jesus! Nothing can separate us from Your Love!
Here are my lyrics to my Godsong…
I BELONG TO YOU
VERSE 1
Love you found me
Wrapped your arms around me
Said I belong to you
Nothing can separate
I’m in your loves embrace
Because I belong to you
CHORUS
I belong to you
I belong, Oh I belong to you
I belong to you
What good news
Yeah, I belong to you
VERSE 2
Now though I still fail
I know your love prevails
‘ Cause I belong to you
Your love and mercy sought me
You’re amazing Grace has bought me
Now I belong to you
BRIDGE
On the cross
My every fault
Met your every nail
Now every marr
Every scar
Proves your love prevailed
‘Cause from my every wrong
You birthed my song
That I belong to You
VERSE 3
Here in my fathers hands
I’m loved just as I am
Singin I belong to you
It’s my daddy‘s song
I’m singing all day long
That I belong to You
